We've been busy at Cornell Farms haying between the rain storms.  It's been a challenge but the rain has also brought us a great hay crop. In the next few weeks, we'll also start working on the hop yard and relocation of the grain bins. Of course, barn concerts, farmers' markets and moving cattle to new pastures just to add to the mix.

Breeding stock bull sales have been brisk. Still a few left for those of you planning on breeding some late calvers next spring though. Just give us a call.

Watch our progress on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

SUZIE VINNICK AT CORNELL FARMS
Suzie Vinnick will be performing at Cornell Farms on August 7th beginning at 7:30 p.m.

A Saskatoon native transplanted to the Niagara Region of Ontario, Roots and Blues singer Suzie Vinnick is a 3X Juno Nominee, CFMA Award winner, and a 10-time winner of the Maple Blues Award for songwriting, female vocalist, acoustic act and more.

Suzie has a voice you
ll never forget. The pure joy she exudes when she picks up that guitar is so worth the show. Suzie has toured nationally with Stuart McLeans The Vinyl Café, the John McDermott Band, and she has performed for Canadian Peacekeepers in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf. She was also the voice of Tim Hortons for 5 years.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  They are available from the Fort Frances Public Library, Tompkins’ Hardware, Lidkea Optometry Services, Cornell Farms and electronically at Eventbrite.ca.

BEEF PAKS and SIDES - TAKING ORDERS NOW
People have been busy picking up a Cornell Farms' beef pak for the summer BBQ season. The addition of grain in our cattle feed, helps make our paks and sides tender and flavourful. And for those of you concerned about dietary fat, we do not over-fatten our cattle. All our meat is butchered, cut and wrapped in provincially inspected facilities and dry aged for 14 days.

A pak includes steaks, ground beef and a few boneless roasts, just right for the BBQ as well an other cuts popular for busy people. We assist with delivery throughout
Northwestern Ontario.

For some of the cuts you might not be familiar with, we do have some recipe ideas on our website.

FARMERS' MARKETS
All of our regional markets continue throughout the summer.
The Thunder Bay Country Market  - Cornell Farms is there every Wednesday and Saturday. (except for July 31 to August 10 when the Market relocates to the Moose Hall)
The Kenora Market - Cornell Farms is there every Wednesday.
The Sioux Lookout Market - Cornell Farms is there every other Friday.

We now have dates for the Red Lake Markets - August 24, September 21, October 19. We will be in the Red Lake Legion parking lot from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on those dates.

Please give us a week's notice for any special orders so we have time to get them ready. It's a busy time around the farm and we don't want anyone to be disappointed.
